For more than half a century, the lives of many Red Lodge residents turned in some small way around Joe and Viola Regis’ “Old Town Grocery.” Cabbage grown in the back yard was delivered throughout town for making sauerkraut. Coal miners stopped on their way to work to purchase fruit from the famous lunch box crab apple tree, still growing behind the café.
Today, in addition to great food, Café Regis has become a favorite place for special events – from music, to lectures, to lawn parties.

What's Happening at Cafe Regis..... Summer is full on now, as are the gardens, bringing to the Cafe everything from rubharb to carrots, spinach and basil and beets. We've also got a new wrought iron table out in the yard where you can sit back and watch the produce grow.
We're excited to announce the third Solar Flair, coming Sunday, August 29th from 4-7pm. This is a festival of sustainable living - a chance to see what people around the region are doing to live a little more lightly on the planet. Held at the Regis Gardens (corner of 16th and Word, in Red Lodge), this year's event features more than two dozen regional vendors of meat and produce, alternative energy technologies, and various earth-friendly services. There'll be technology demonstrations, advice for gardeners, and information on a new regional alternative transportation program. If you're hungry, you'll find some truly fine local organic burgers, as well as beer from Red Lodge Ales.
